One Hundred and Thirty-Two…

One Hundred and Thirty-Two: Moonstruck

“If it’s a boy I want him named after me,” Lucifer said.

She groaned. “Men always want boys… and they always want them to have their name. It’s annoying.”

Mila stretched, laid back and sighed.

“I’m sooo tired lately. Do you think it’s because of the pregnancy?”

“I’m not sure.” He shrugged. “I know you look good, though. Your skin is so pretty.”

“It wasn’t before?” She laughed.

“Of course it was,” he said getting flustered. “But now… I mean, wow. You’re beautiful. Even more than I thought before.”

“I wonder when I’ll start getting sick.”

Lucifer gathered her into his arms and kissed her on the lips.

He tried to kiss her again. She pulled away.

Lucifer clutched Mila’s arm, pulling her back to him.

“I said I’m tired, Lucifer.”

“What? It’s just a kiss. It’s not like I’m asking you to have sex.” Hot anger rose inside him.

“I’m too tired to kiss.”

He left the bed.

“Sorry,” she moaned. “You’re not mad, are you?”

“No.”

Of course I’m mad, Mila. You piss me off.

You were interested in me until I got you pregnant. Now you’ve gotten what you wanted. What do I have? These needs that I can’t control unless I jack off.

It’s humiliating.

And I can name my son whatever I want... if it’s a boy.

“Do you… love me?” he asked without forethought.

“What?”

Lucifer spun to face her. “You heard what I said. Don’t you feel anything for me at all?”

“Yes. I do.”

Then why the hell don’t you act like it?

“Shhh! Quiet down before someone hears you.”

“No.” He hesitated, clenched his jaw. “I want to know why you haven’t been interested in me since you got pregnant.”

Mila sat upright.

“I feel things for you, but the only reason I let you get me pregnant was for immunity from that curse. Remember?”

“How the hell could I forget? I can’t forget. It’s all I think about, Mila.”

“Well maybe you should stop thinking about it.”

His anger boiled over.

“You USED me!”

“It’s not as if you hated fucking me a thousand times! Don’t bullshit me. You liked it.”

“Hell yes I liked it! How the fuck else were you supposed to get knocked up?! If I didn’t like it, then I couldn’t get off. Right?” He raked his hair with his fingers. “That’s where babies come from, Mila. That’s how they get inside you. The guy has to get off first.”

“Stop it; you’re being disgusting,” she said. “Shut up.”

“Oh. I’m being disgusting to you.”

“Yes.”

“I wasn’t so disgusting while I was fucking you, was I?”

“No… I guess not.” Her chin trembled.

“No?”

“NO!” she wailed.

Lucifer dove on top of her.

“Stop it! Get off me, Lucifer!”

They struggled.

“Just say you love me! Say you want me! Don’t you think you at least owe me that?”

“I can have Reznik in here so fast… he’d kick you out of this house if I really wanted him to,” he added.

“All you’re doing is proving my point!”

What point?”

“That vampires are evil and scary! You’re being evil and scaring me!”

Her words cut short his tirade.

She started crying. “I—I’m sorry, Lucifer. I didn’t mean to make you mad at me.”

“It’s okay,” he whispered. “I’m the one who should be sorry. So, I’m sorry. I never should’ve said those things.”

“You’re right. You shouldn’t have.” She frowned. “And I do love you, Lucifer. I’m just afraid.”

“Afraid of what?”

“Of you. I’m afraid of you and creatures like you. I’m also afraid of getting hurt, and I’m not talking about bites to my neck.”

Lucifer scooted to the bed’s edge.

“Now I get it. I totally understand,” he said.

“What do you understand?”

“Everything.”

He climbed over Mila and then pulled her into a loving embrace.

“I’ll never pressure you again,” he said.

She sniffled. “I love you, Lucifer.”

“So how do you like it? Pretty cool, eh?”

Azura observed the property, along with its ancient siding that crumbled partially off, the dilapidated shed to the right, the weeds all over, and the few scattered junk.

Place must’ve been over a hundred years old.

“What’s wrong? You don’t like it?”

She shrugged. “Let’s just go in.”

“Okay.”

Brent led her to the front doors and waited for her to go in first.

She glanced inside, then grabbed the brass handle.

The interior wasn’t as bad as the exterior. In fact it was somewhat nice.

“If there’s anything you don’t like, I can always change it later. I was also thinking about getting it fixed up. I know the siding’s bad and shit like that.”

Azura nodded. “Yeah. It’s very bad.”

He headed into the first bedroom.

“This is it. This will be our love nest.” He chortled.

She didn’t return his laughter.

“Oh, come on. At least tell me you like this room.”

“It’s okay.”

Brent sighed.

As it turned out, this bedroom had its own bathroom. That shocked Azura.

There were two other bedrooms as well. One small enough to be a nursery.

She followed him up the main stairs.

Azura went straight to the model train set, fascinated as the tiny locomotive wound its way around each curve and through a tunnel.

She watched a few more minutes.

“Most of the stuff you see was left by the vampires who used to live here,” Brent said, almost acting like a tour guide.

She yawned, strolled over to a huge book on a stand.

“I wonder what this big book is about?” she asked.

Silence.

He crept up to her from behind, caressed her shoulder. She leaned into him.

“Azura, wake up. I got something for you.”

“What is it?”

“Get up and I’ll show you.”

“I don’t feel like getting up. I’m tired.”

“Too bad. Now come on.” Brent touched her. She flinched, but then rolled out of bed.

“I know you’ve been kinda down lately, so I thought this might cheer you up.”

“What’s in it?”

“Open it and see.”

Azura tore it open, gasped.

“Aw! Thank you, Brent.”

“Yeah. I know how much Mr. Pebbles meant to you, so I figured a bear to replace him might help. This one’s a vampire.”

Tears actually came to her eyes. Now she really felt silly.

“I can’t believe you remembered Mr. Pebbles.”

“‘Course I do. He was your fave.” Brent grinned mischievously.

She placed the toy on the bed.

They kissed. “Thank you, Brent.”

“You’re welcome. I—love you.”

“Love you too.”

The half-moon raced across the midnight skies.

In the mean time, Reznik and his underlings made a shocking discovery…

To be continued next week, haha. 😛

Also, I can’t seem to get Mila’s nose just right. I keep editing it in CAS, but now it’s too small. *facepalm*
