Sixty-Nine: Masquerade
“Hunter cannot be the only genius who knows about Kat’s condition. There has to be someone else.”
“I don’t want Kat to see him anymore. Not for her treatments, not for anything.”
“I don’t know if that’s such a good idea. Kat’s health is the most important thing. I don’t think we have any other choice, at least none that I’m willing to risk.”
“I know you’re right. I just—wish so badly to slice off Hunter’s dick and balls.”
She eyed him.
Meanwhile, Kat pined for Hunter in her room.
Said he loved me. Then he left. Said he loved me. Then he left.
What the fuck?
Her stomach felt like a big black hole of despair. Nothing more.
She stared at the door, but didn’t really see it.
Wanted… to… just… die…
“I’m going home,” Vaclav announced the next evening.
“I want you to take care of yourself. Stay away from Hunter.”
“But he has to treat me for the I-DAS!”
“Yes he has to treat you. For now there’s no other choice. But soon I plan to find another choice.”
“I don’t want to ask you this… but have you and Hunter—”
“No we haven’t. We’ve kissed, slept together and stuff, but that’s it.” Kat squirmed, fidgeted.
“In fact, I wanted to but he refused.”
So don’t worry. Your darling daughter is still virginal.
“Please understand, Kat. I just don’t want you to get hurt.”
“Too late,” she said choking up.
A tear escaped and she wiped it away.
He tightly embraced her, kissed her on the head.
“I love you Kat.”
“Love you too. H–have a safe trip home.”
She had to get out of the house. Before the four walls of her bedroom drove her insane.
Nocturnal music played all around.
Then she thought she heard a voice.
“Hello? Is somebody there?”
She walked a little farther then stopped.
“Kat,” someone hissed.
“Kat.”
Is it Hunter? Nah. Voice sounded different, from what she could make out.
She advanced to the trees.
“Kaaaat.”
It sounded creepy, eerie. But something compelled her to forge ahead and see who it was.
She peered beyond the spruce.
Nothing.
A masculine hand clapped onto her mouth, muffling the screams that followed.
“Shh,” he hushed. “I’m not going to hurt you.”
His hand slid from her mouth.
“It’s okay. I’m Omega. Do you remember me?”
Omega?
A flashback…
He’d flirted with her over a year earlier. The other Dempire had called him ‘Omega’.
“Omega?” she asked.
“Yeah. I followed your father here. I had to find you.”
“Why?”
He withdrew and stepped back. Then he dodged her question.
“Don’t worry. None of the others followed me here, so you’re safe. But I couldn’t risk showing myself until your father left.”
“You saved me and Hunter. Remember when we were trapped in the clinic basement?”
“Yeah. That was only last week or so.” He paused. “I couldn’t really talk to you until I knew for sure Pavel was dead. He never would’ve allowed it.”
“Talk to me about what?”
“About the fact that you belong to me. We belong together. Forever.”
Her eyes rounded.
“I knew it in my heart since I first saw you. Back then you were only fifteen. We were always destined to be as one.”
“Really?”
Are you sure about that? she wanted to ask. But his words entranced her, drifted deep inside her and caressed her broken heart.
She’d intermittently thought about him after meeting him in town. How cute he was, how flirty, how shameless. Then he’d even saved her life. What more could a girl ask for?
Hunter. He wasn’t Hunter.
Screw Hunter, another side of her argued.
They sat on the ground and talked.
Lovingly, Omega’s dark wing brushed her backside and curled around her shoulder.
Back in Shadowvale, Reznik stopped by the nightclub to get a few drinks. Maybe pick up some women… or men.
He noticed her as soon as he entered.
Nice disguise, he thought. Although I can easily decipher the gold of your eyes.
Indeed she was a Dempire. But no wings? Apparently the females have neither those nor horns.
Reznik admired her bravery in patronizing an establishment inhabited by the enemy.
So he headed toward her.
Sat next to her.
Spoke to her.
“Hi.”
“Hi.” She sipped her drink.
Heheh, Reznik thought. Let the games begin.
“Why are you wearing sunglasses?”
“What’s it to you?” She quickly lifted the glass to her lips, looked away as though nervous.
“Do the lights in here hurt your eyes?”
“Yes.”
“Maybe you need an exorcist to drive out the Dempire in you.”
“What did you say?”
“I said maybe you need to dance. With me.”
“I’ll dance with you. As long as you stop saying lame things.”
“Deal.”
Lady Gaga’s Bad Romance exploded from the speakers.
As they danced, Reznik’s hand went to her boob.
She didn’t shove him away.
“Yeah. Move it, sexy.” Grinding, he got even closer and licked her earlobe.
“My name’s Xeri, not sexy. But you can still call me sexy if you want.”
Reznik chuckled.
“You’re safe now,” Reznik said an hour later. “You can take off the sunglasses.”
“I don’t think I’m safe anywhere. Particularly here in your father’s house.” Xeri looked down at her feet. “I don’t even know what I’m doing here.”
He reached over and removed her shades.
She smiled at him.
“You don’t have to be afraid. I won’t hurt you, and I’ll make sure my dad doesn’t hurt you. Trust me.”
Maybe he would get lucky that night.
But one thing he never expected was to fall in love.

Lol, so typical of Vaclav to want to find a replacement for Hunter as soon as possible. Also, I like that there’s no remorse or apology thought / spoken when he learns that Hunter never touched Kat. There’s nothing at all, when Kat says that he was the one to say no. No. All Vaclav sees is his perfect sweet little daughter *sigh*. Blinded that father is. Blinded.
Awwww Omega and Kat are UBER cute! He’s so completely in love with her and she’s so completely torn. Well perhaps not yet, but I can see it happening.
The photo and line about him lovingly wrap a wing around her shoulder had my heart go out to him. Poor Omega, has no idea what family he’s trying to get into.

Aw, well thank you. I wasn’t really thinking straight because I was so upset and thought I’d lose everything, but finally I remembered to simply take out the mod folder entirely (and downloads) and that worked. Ugh, it was a horrible morning. I still don’t know what I did wrong. I guess a file somehow got corrupted while I was converting them.
So fuck it, I’m not compressing shit after that… And thanks again. 🙂 As for Gavin, yes he’s a new character later on. He won’t show up until chapter 73. I was going to use Jakub in the video but was too lazy to search for him in the neighborhood sim bin. And I never thought to use Omega. Oh, and glad you liked the video! One of my fave parts is where Rez has issues with his powers, and throws a tantrum! That was unexpected by the way, but I decided it was too funny not to use it! It fit Rez so perfectly.
Vaclav is pretty blind, isn’t he? Just goes to show how much he hates Hunter, and yeah, he refuses to see his daughter is growing up.
You’re right. *SPOILER* Poor Kat’s going to be torn between two vampires pretty soon. LOL. XD Omega is cute and sweet. Rofl, if Omega only knew how crazy Kat’s family was, he might run in the other direction! Or maybe not. Likely nothing would keep him away from Kat. Haha, I have thought of that before, how Kat’s boyfriends are both from rival clans! And now Rez is doing the same thing! Like you said, they’re rebels, and Kat’s competing with her brother on that note.
I know it, I love those eyes. They go so well with her hair color. And btw I’ve tweaked her hairstyle a few times in the next few chapters, trying to find one that suits her perfectly. I finally found the right one, you’ll see it in chapter 73. Still short, but very nice. And by the way, Rez has pretty much grown out of his selfishness, so he’ll make a decent BF to her. XD Of course, he’ll always be a selflish brat to a degree, but he’s better now… 😛

Vaclav couldn’t be more blind if he had no eyes. Seriously, that man needs to wake up. Perhaps Aubrey can remind him what they were like when she was Kat’s age… on second thought that might not be a good idea. I think we need a stronger word than hate for how Vaclav feels about Hunter lol.
I knew she’d be torn! The guy she loves but won’t give her the attention she wants vs the guy who gives her all the attention but who she doesn’t love the same way. If only Omega wasn’t so sweet and so wrapped up in Kat, he might have run. Too late now though!

Totally agree. I hate always having to look for decent hairs. It’s especailly tough finding good male hair. I saw some good new ones at the store, so hopefully they’ll look good on my guy sims if I buy them. A couple times I’ve done that, and ended up HATING the way they looked on my sims!! Grrr. But I really think I found the right look for Xeri now. 🙂

Yes, I hate that! It really is impossible to find. And I like some longish hairs, but it’s absolutely ridiculous never to have anything SHORT except for in the Sims store. UGH. I mean, not every male sim has to look like an anime character! I end up using the same short one over and over… LOL. I think this one will look decent on my sims, at least I hope it will. I’ll find out soon enough…

YES! I don’t know about you, but it’s extremely rarely to run into an anime character in my everyday life. Not saying it can’t happen because these youngins (yes I said youngins) only have crap anime cartoons to watch and need to mimic everything – including hairstyles. As for your legacy, there’s nothing wrong with writing lots of heartbreak, it makes for interesting drama and conflict! 🙂 And yeah, good moments are good too. But like you said, too much happiness can be boring, lol. Of course they say not to put too much drama and crap in a story either (which I’m sure I’m guilty of). XD Mine are like soap operas.

BTW I went ahead and made that one novel free for people to read online (but only for a week!) and yesterday it was only up to 15 downloads, and today it jumped up to 70 O_O (I’m assuming FREE had something to do with that). In a way it makes me feel good, but in another way I wonder if I’ll always be destined to give my shit away for free and it’s depressing. I don’t mind at all doing this blog story for free, but novels are hard as fuck to work on, and I just wanted something small out of it.

Yep, plenty of ways to kill them in Sims 3 too, and mods always help. Meh, that’s what I’ve always heard. Personally I love lots of drama. Makes it more interesting IMO. Exactly, that’s why soaps are so popular and have been for the last zillion years! Like you said, stupid critics.

The only thing that bothers me is that I have 15 downloads all week, but when I set the price as free, it jumped up to 110 downloads in two days (now), and when I first released the book it was only .99, and people STILL didn’t buy it. I do have a lot of saved games for Bloodlust (for the different settings like you said). And I also have most of those Twallan mods. Once you get used to them, they make it easier/quicker to do a scene. Probably why I’m able to stay waaaay ahead and update often, thanks to those mods. Not to mention the poses. So much easier than it used to be. I used to be afraid they’d ruin my game too, but finally heard too many good things about them and just had to try them for myself. Indeed, I think they slightly slow down my game, but they’re still worth it. 🙂 haha I saw you still didn’t have an update, I checked yesterday. You really are too hard on yourself! If you relax more it’s easier to tell the story! But I know that’s easier said than done… Glad you almost have it figured out though!

And then my game kept freezing every other 10 minutes…esp when I forwarded the game (but seriously do I want to watch them go to the bathroom for an hour?), so now I’m using that global reset command constantly.

Wow, thank you very much! 🙂 Love the compliments. IDK about the pics, I just take my time whenever I capture screenshots of my simmies. 😀 As for the first pic, I used GIMP to edit it, it has a ‘lens flare’ effect which explains the pretty light effects.

All I can say is poor Hunter. Fell in love with Aubrey, and she left him for Vaclav, well because she was destined to be with him of course. Now he’s in love with Kat, and she’s destined to be with Omega. Poor sexy Hunter 😦
